Mischievous Little One

I can't believe I almost forgot to post this~The day before we left for Disney World, I put Evan down for his usual afternoon nap.   About an hour after putting him down, E comes out of his room with his swimmer diapers around his legs smiling ear to ear.   I ask him what he did and he babbles something I absolutely had no idea what he said.  I followed him to his room, turned on the light and found what Evan would say is a work of art.  To me, a disaster! There was Desitin smeared all over his dresser, the rug, and the ottoman.  I even found some on the carpet and the bottom of his bed.  I could not believe it!

Of course, he appeared to be very proud of his art work as he continued to smile
during my evaluation of the situation.
What a mess! It took me an hour to clean it all up.
Luckily it all cleaned up and E helped me with it.

Dentist Visit

Last week Evan had his dentist appointment.   Going into the appointment I was hopeful he had grown out of his fear of getting his teeth cleaned.  He doesn't mind brushing his teeth nor having us brush his teeth.   We pass by his dentist office at least once a week when he go to the park and he says "dentist", points to the office and smiles.  We have also talked about getting teeth cleaned, how important it is, and he's even showed me what the dentist does with the cleaning tool.   I was SO wrong!   Walking into the office was a piece of cake because E was all smiles and eager to see the office.   As soon as the gloves went onto her hands, E made a bee line to the door and cried "NO".   As soon as I grabbed him and sat him on my lap, he used all his energy to fight his way out of my arms.   Poor Dr. Kristin.  She's 8 months pregnant and had to muster up the energy to get inside his mouth while Evan was screaming at the top of his lungs and moving around.  She STILL was able to look inside E's mouth and clean his teeth all while singing Elmo songs to him.  Bless her heart!!   After E's teeth were all cleaned and I wiped away his tears, E stood up, walked up to Dr. Kristin and gave her a huge hug.   Really??!?!  All I could think of at that moment was 'Really?   After being that upset you still gave her a hug like nothing just happened?'  What a nut!   He  cracks me up!   Even Dr.  Kristin was laughing at him.   She assured me that he will out grow of his fear.  Boy do I hope so!

Disney World Finale

Chef Mickey's was the perfect ending to a fabulous vacation!
It was hard to believe our Disney trip was coming to an end.  We wanted to stay another day but knew it was probably best to head home.   E was a trooper.  He didn't nap Saturday and Sunday and we knew he needed more rest.   He was more irritable as Monday rolled around.
Mickey and his friends came to each table at the restaurant to meet and
take a picture while we ate breakfast.   There was cute Disney music playing in the background and lots of bold colors surrounding the room.  The food was delicious too!
 Evan with Chef Mickey
 with "Boofy"
 can't forget Minnie...
 Pluto and....
 Donald!
Evan and I squeezed in a quick pic with Mommy's favorite Mickey friend, Pluto!
 It's time to say goodbye...
Thank you Disney World for an unforgettable vacation!!!

Disney World Day Three

After a well rested night we headed out for the Animal Kingdom on Sunday.
It was REALLY HOT!!!  Thank goodness for lots of trees and therefore lots of shade.  We could have melted out there :)
Right when we entered Animal Kingdom we went to The Bug's Life 4D show.   The trail we had to walked to get there was a replica of an ant hole.   It was too cute!  Here's Dave and E walking through the trail of a "Bug's Life".
E never fails to find musical instruments where ever he goes.
Early in the morning we went on a safari.  We rode in a jeep with other visitors while we saw elephants, lions, rhinos, birds, alligators, and lots of other wild life animals.  We all enjoyed it!

Evan and I on the safari ride.
Evan and Dave taking in the ride too.  You can see hot and humid it was...even Evan was sweating!
Evan's expression going to the Bug's Life show for not the second, but the third time.
He couldn't get enough of the 4D action!
 Our little bug!
After seeing the It's a Bug's Life show 3 times, Evan finally got to meet the star of the show...FLICK!
I absolutely love this picture.   It's a tribute to our late rabbit, Hampton ;0)
We ate a delicious lunch at the Flame Tree BBQ and headed to the parade in the afternoon.
The parade was so colorful and full of the many Disney characters.   Good music and lots of action.
 Boofy (as E calls him)
 Donald Duck
and Me Mouse (another E ism)
We finished out our day at the Rainforest Cafe for dinner before heading back to
our hotel for a restful night.   Another memorable day for us!

Disney World Day Two

Disney World doesn't get it's name for nothing!   Our day at the Magic Kingdom truly was "MAGICAL"!!!
Our day started by eating breakfast at our hotel.  We drove to Disney World and parked before hopping onto the trolley and tram.   Evan loved riding both of them to the Magic Kingdom.  According to E the trolley and tram were "trains".  He was all smiles when ever we rode on them and kept asking for more every time we got off.
Entering the Magic Kingdom was indescribable when looking through the eyes of Evan.  It goes without saying,  E wasn't in the mood for pictures.  He just wanted to take it all in, but both Dave and I insisted that we capture our unforgettable experience so we can look at them for years to come.
E loved all the rides at Disney, but the carousel...
was by far one of his favorites...
that he couldn't stop smiling :)
We also rode the classic Dumbo ride...
It's a Small World, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Snow White.  Evan liked them all!   He amazed us by how much he got into them.  He didn't even get scared when we rode on the Haunted Mansion, nor did he get bored watching the Hall of the Presidents show.
Although Evan liked all the rides, his ultimate favorite ride, hands down, was the Buzz Lightyear ride.  If you want to know how much he liked the ride, let me tell you.  We went on it 3 times!!!
Buzz Lightyear is Evan's hero.
Even Dave and I got into the ride.  We got to shoot at things with this lazer gun (the one E's holding) and earn points.  Each time we tried to out beat one another.   Go figure, I earned the most points 2 out of our 3 rides, and I don't play video games...ha ha ha.
Buzz was waiting outside to take pictures with kids.  We didn't get a picture with Buzz because the line was TOO long.  But instead, we cooled off by eating some really yummy ice cream.
After lunch at the Main Street Bakery, we caught our second viewing of one of the many Disney parades that go through the streets throughout the day.
E got the best view by sitting on Dave's shoulders.
We saw all of Mickey's friends....and more...
E, Dave, and I got to watch the Magic Kingdom stage performance 2 times!
There was SO` much to see and do...
We could have gone back the following day!   We all loved the atmosphere, the energy, magic, and fantasy was so magical!!!  What a spectacular day!!!

Disney World 2011...Day One

Since we booked our vacation months ago we were so excited for this day to arrive!   We woke up last Friday morning beyond eager and excited to start our first family vacation to Walt Disney World.   E was all smiles, as you can see in the picture above, as we drove to the airport.  When we were talking about going on the airplane, E kept saying "E too, E too".  He has been saying that for everything that he wants to be included in.
E waiting with us to go through security
Waiting at the terminal...
very excited to get onto the plane (as Evan says "E happy")
Evan sat in the middle of us but wanted to look out the window as it was taxiing

After we got our rental car we drove 15 miles to our hotel.  Evan didn't stay up long in the car.  He was exhausted!  He got a short nap in before we stopped for lunch.
We checked into our hotel and headed to Downtown Disney for dinner.  What a fun and lively atmosphere!  E enjoyed it as much as we did.
Luckily we saw Buzz at the beginning of our trip.
It wasn't the first nor the last time we saw him at Disney :)
We can't leave out Woody!   E loves Toy Story...it's all he talks about these days!
E got a kick out of the Buzz hat...
and the pluto hat!
Had to get a picture with Evan and me
(I'm usually the photographer and am rarely in any)
So...we decided to take another!  Love my little man!
We called it a night after checking out all of Downtown Disney.
We had to get a good night's sleep for our big day following a long day of travel.
